MP Michelle Scrogham recognises Lakeland Care’s award-winning home carers

Senior Carer Ashleigh Harvey has been crowned Domiciliary Carer of the Year 2025 at the National Care Awards, while
Joy Turnbull was named a finalist for the prestigious Sara Berrio Care Champion Award.
Both are valued members of our Lakeland Care team, providing high-quality care at home across Furness and South Cumbria.

Following her visit to our Barrow office, Michelle shared this message:

During her visit, Michelle met with Ashleigh, Joy and the wider care team to hear about their experiences supporting people at home in Barrow and the surrounding areas.
She continued:
“Joy and Ashleigh have come into the care sector later in their careers, but their dedication and compassion is clear to see.
It was a privilege to meet them and the wider team, and I want to thank them all for the vital role they play in our community.I also had a chance to talk to the team about issues their sector is facing both nationally and locally, and there was definitely useful information to take away with me.”
